Couples looking for a simple civil ceremony with a little more atmosphere than a courthouse can say “I do” along the Occoquan waterfront this November. The Prince William County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office will host its third annual Seal the Deal civil wedding experience on Friday, Nov. 20, 2026, from noon to 4 p.m. at Madigan’s Waterfront, 201 Mill Street in Occoquan, Virginia.
A Civil Ceremony With an Occoquan Backdrop
Circuit Court Clerk Jacqueline C. Smith and her office are bringing courthouse-style ceremonies to Madigan’s Waterfront in partnership with the Town of Occoquan, the restaurant, and local businesses.
Couples will be able to walk the aisle, exchange vows, and take photographs at the waterfront venue. After the ceremony, newlyweds can continue celebrating throughout historic Occoquan, where the riverfront, parks, boutiques, artisan shops, restaurants, and seasonal decorations offer plenty of options for photographs or a meal together.
The event is designed for couples who want the simplicity of a civil ceremony while still having a setting that feels special and celebratory.
What Couples Need to Know
Seal the Deal takes place Friday, Nov. 20, from noon to 4 p.m. at Madigan’s Waterfront in Occoquan. The Prince William County Circuit Court Clerk’s current marriage information lists the Seal the Deal ceremony fee as $70 per couple. Marriage license applications and appointments are separate from the ceremony, so couples should make sure they complete the Clerk’s requirements in addition to reserving their Seal the Deal ceremony time.
Couples can contact the Prince William County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office at 703-792-6036 for information and scheduling. Learn more and reserve a ceremony time at https://www.pwcva.gov/marriage.
Make a Day of It
One of the advantages of an Occoquan ceremony is that couples do not have to leave when the vows are finished. A newly married couple can take waterfront photographs, browse the town’s independent shops, stop for lunch or dinner, or simply walk through the historic district together. For couples planning an intimate wedding or elopement, that makes it possible to create a memorable day without building a large traditional wedding around the ceremony.
Seal the Deal is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 20, 2026, from noon to 4 p.m. at Madigan’s Waterfront, 201 Mill Street, Occoquan, Virginia. Advance scheduling is required through the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office.
