A Taste of Luxury: Caviar To You Brings an Interactive Experience to Weddings

By Rebecca Barnes, Publisher, Brides & Weddings

Couples are increasingly looking for wedding details their guests can experience, not simply see. Caviar To You offers one decidedly unexpected option: a mobile caviar tasting experience that brings the luxury directly to the celebration.

Founded by Kellie Poirier, Caviar To You takes caviar out of the formal dining room and puts it in the middle of the party. Guests can sample curated caviar, learn a little about what they are tasting, and even participate in the brand’s signature caviar belt experience.

The result is part food experience, part entertainment, and a memorable conversation starter.

FROM AN IDEA TO AN EXPERIENCE

Poirier launched Caviar To You in spring 2026 after discovering mobile caviar concepts on TikTok and seeing an opportunity to bring something similar to the Virginia wedding and event market.

Rather than requiring guests to sit down for a formal tasting, Caviar To You moves through the celebration. The concept allows people to encounter caviar naturally while they mingle, sip cocktails, and enjoy the event.

That accessibility is an important part of the experience for Poirier.

Many guests have never tried caviar, and some arrive with preconceived ideas about how it will taste. Poirier said people sometimes expect caviar to be “fishy,” but quality caviar is quite different.

She describes premium caviar as lightly briny with creamy, buttery, and nutty characteristics and a smooth finish. Her role is not simply to serve it, but to help guests understand what they are trying.

She also does not pressure reluctant guests.

Instead, she talks with them, answers questions, and lets curiosity do the work.

For couples, that means the caviar becomes something their guests experience together rather than another menu item waiting on a plate.

WHERE DOES CAVIAR FIT INTO A WEDDING?

One advantage of a mobile experience is flexibility. Couples do not need to restructure their reception around it.

Caviar To You can become a feature during several parts of the wedding weekend.

A welcome reception can introduce guests to the celebration with an unexpected first bite.

During cocktail hour, the mobile caviar belt can circulate while guests mingle and enjoy cocktails.

Couples can pair caviar and Champagne for an elevated toast.

A rehearsal dinner offers another opportunity to surprise family and the wedding party with something they may not have experienced before.

At the wedding reception, Caviar To You can circulate among guests and offer tastings or the increasingly popular “caviar bump.”

Even the farewell brunch can include one final indulgence before everyone heads home.

The experience can also work for bridal showers, engagement celebrations, welcome parties, and other events surrounding the wedding.

WHAT IS A CAVIAR BUMP?

For guests unfamiliar with the trend, a caviar bump is a small serving of caviar placed on the back of the hand and eaten directly.

It is informal, social, and quite different from the traditional image of caviar served formally with mother-of-pearl spoons and an array of accompaniments.

That contrast is part of what makes the concept interesting for weddings.

A luxury ingredient becomes playful.

Guests who might never order caviar in a restaurant can try it alongside friends, take a photo, compare reactions, and participate in a shared moment.

PLANNER-FRIENDLY MATTERS

An interesting wedding experience loses some of its appeal when it creates another complicated logistical problem for the planner.

Poirier designed the service to require relatively little from the planning team.

Caviar To You primarily needs a place to keep its belongings and a few minutes to prepare before service. Once the experience begins, Poirier can circulate among guests while the wedding planner and venue team continue managing the larger celebration.

For planners trying to create something distinctive without adding another elaborate installation or production element, that can make the experience easier to incorporate.

LUXURY DOES NOT HAVE TO FEEL INTIMIDATING

Perhaps the most distinctive part of Caviar To You is the combination of luxury and approachability.

Caviar certainly carries an upscale reputation, but Poirier does not want guests to feel as though they need to understand caviar etiquette before participating.

The experience is designed for both experienced caviar lovers and people tasting it for the first time.

That makes it especially suited to weddings, where a guest list may include several generations, different tastes, and very different levels of familiarity with luxury foods.

The objective is not to turn everyone into a caviar expert.

It is to give them something interesting to taste, talk about, and remember.

CREATING THE MOMENT GUESTS TALK ABOUT

When couples plan their wedding, they naturally spend considerable time thinking about flowers, linens, menus, signage, and décor. Those pieces create the environment.

Interactive experiences can create the stories guests tell afterward.

Caviar To You is one example of how couples can introduce an element of surprise without turning their entire wedding into a themed production.

A server approaching during cocktail hour with a belt filled with caviar tastings is unexpected. Trying caviar for the first time with friends is memorable. Pairing it with Champagne adds another layer to a toast couples were already planning to make.

Poirier summed up the philosophy behind the service simply: each wedding is unique, so the caviar experience can be personalized for the celebration as well.
