Chelsea and Matt met in New York City, but planned a winter wedding in Tampa not far from Chelsea’s hometown, Sarasota. Chelsea’s brothers and dad all work in professional baseball, so winter was a natural choice and the 80 degree weather of a Florida winter was a definite bonus! They chose the uniquely beautiful Rialto Theater because it was “a blank slate” they could make their own and the modern industrial feel reminded them of the home they share.
Strung Edison bulbs and wood farm tables were a must for Chelsea and Matt and ghost chairs helped bring a sleek modern touch to their ceremony and reception. The two added black velvet table linens with a mix of sculpted twigs and tons of jewel tone flowers including Proteas, Chelsea’s favorite, to add a rich warm feel. Matte black dishes with gold chargers and silverware popped on all the tables.
Matt’s requests included a custom draft beer bar by Hidden Springs Ale Works and an ice luge for his infamous homemade “banana Jameson”. A small lounge area with big forest green couches and hanging twig “Cheers” sign were a huge hit for guests needing a break from dancing. Chelsea says, “Rena (from Event Lab 1) became my wedding soulmate, she immediately saw our vision and knew exactly who to source out to make a reality and our wedding army of vendors made it perfection”.
We simply can’t get enough of the gorgeous detailing on the bodice and back of Chelsea’s gown and Matt’s modern two toned suit jacket. This stylish couple’s wedding is totally inspiring!
