Roslanna and Johnnie: Gold and Glamour in the City

Roslanna and Johnnie both come from large families, so they knew their wedding was going to be a lavish affair. They started with a grand outdoor ceremony at the Adler Planetarium on Lake Michigan that celebrated their love and the iconic skyline of their native Chicago. This glamorous couple turned on the glitz for their urban wedding by outfitting their large bridal party in glimmering gold dresses and tuxedos and getting plenty of pictures on the city streets. The styling was perfect for a luxurious event in the big city!

Roslanna looked divine in her gown. Its sheer detailing and appliquéd bodice made it look as if it had been painted right on and her long veil and vintage-inspired accessories gave her look the drama and style of classic Hollywood. Johnnie was handsome in his tuxedo and traditional bow tie, a mix of James Bond and Cary Grant.

For the reception, the party moved inside the planetarium where the vaulted glass ceiling provided the perfect late day sunlight to capture all the details. Tall centerpieces of white hydrangea, floating votive candles and black and gold linens with sparkling accents gave the room glamour, while details like Roslanna and Johnnie’s non-traditional guest book of vinyl 45s signed with gold sharpie, put the focus on fun. The couple enjoyed dinner and mingling with friends and family as the sun set over the city and then danced all night to the sounds of the Low Down Brass Band before heading outside for one last picture as fireworks filled the night sky.
