Kara and Matt’s Vintage Inspired Old West Wedding

Kara and Matt planned a vintage-inspired wedding in the old west town of Deadwood, nestled in the Black Hills of South Dakota. They chose the Martin Mason Hotel for it’s historic charm and amazing collection of antique fixtures and furnishings. The two wanted their wedding to feel like they’d taken a step back in time to a glamorous era. Kara’s sister was a huge help when it came to DIY décor projects. She kept everything in a vintage glam theme with lots of sparkle, gold and silver. She thought of everything, from glittery pillows for the vintage couches to old fashioned key shaped bottle openers as favors.

A huge part of creating the luxe vintage feel of Kara and Matt’s wedding was the bridal party’s styling. Kara was simply stunning in her ivory Maggie Sottero gown with silk underdress and lace overlay and her bridesmaids’ sequin detailed vintage-inspred gowns in shades of gray and taupe were perfect with their faux fur stoles. All of the ladies had their hair and make-up done in soft vintage styles and Matt and his guys portrayed the rugged handsomeness of the old west in their gray toned vests and ties. The antique and vintage touches of the hotel enhanced the day’s historic glamour and the florals, a blend of soft purple roses and white hydrangea with sprays of lilies and wildflowers, accentuated the vintage theme of the decor.

After the ceremony the wedding party took a ride a ride around Deadwood on an old trolley car (once the preferred mode of transportation in town) and Kara and Matt had fun taking pictures with their wedding party at the old train station and on historic Main Street Deadwood. At the reception, each table centerpiece was unique and an assortment of delicious cupcakes was served. After which, Kara and Matt, surrounded by their amazing family and friends, were treated to toasts filled with happy tears and lots of laughs as long time friends retold the beginning of their relationship.
