Alexandra and Josh knew they wanted something romantic and intimate for their wedding day, but they didn’t even consider a winery until they found Europa Village. Alexandra says, “one look around and we knew it was absolutely perfect.” Their color palette was inspired by the “rustic and romantic feel of the winery”, with dark reds, blushes, and soft oranges. The ceremony took place inside the wine cave where the aisle was lined with flowers and lanterns with small tea lights to give the space a romantic feel. At the alter sat a rustic table covered in floral arrangements with birch branches wrapped in mini twinkle lights above it and wine barrels provided by the venue featuring florals and signs completed the ceremony decor.
For the reception, Alexandra and Brandon repurposed the ceremony florals as centerpieces. The arrangements of deep red and light peach roses with accents of white hydrangea and greenery popped against the champagne colored table cloths and in keeping with the winery theme, a corkscrew and wine bottle stopper favor was placed at each setting. Alexandra says florals were a huge part “of the whole look and feel of the wedding.” Her bouquet, which paired perfectly with her sleek, lace backless gown, featured red and light pink roses, red calla lilies, peach peonies and lots of greenery. The bridesmaids carried bouquets of white and red roses, baby’s breath and greenery that complimented their rich red gowns. Brandon and his groomsmen wore boutonnieres of roses and baby’s breath on the lapels of their light gray suits which they paired with ties that coordinated with the ladies’ gowns and the adorable flower girls wore halos of baby’s breath with their blush ballerina-inspired dresses.
The dessert table looked amazing with a variety of cupcakes, cake pops, brownies and cookies, but the wedding cake was the definite star of the dessert show, styled with florals and small grapes. Alexandra and Brandon infused plenty of fun activities for their guests into their celebration. They provided customized cocktail napkins with their wedding hashtag, so guests could share their pictures on social media and they had a photo booth, complete with props. “It was such a fun way for the guests to let loose and have fun, and we got to keep all the pictures”, says Alexandra. They printed out custom wedding themed Mad Libs for their guests to fill out and turn in before the end of a night filled with mingling, dining and dancing in a stunning wine country setting.
