Chelsea and Nick’s Nautical Nuptials

Chelsea and Nick are best friends above all. They chose the Herreshoff Marine Museum in Bristol, Rhode Island for its waterfront location and relaxed outdoor setting, but when their wedding day forecast called for steady rain and the storm clouds started rolling in over the ocean, this cool couple took it all in stride. Instead of worrying about the weather, they focused on the love they have for each other and with some quick reconfiguring, their outdoor ceremony was moved under the reception tent. They didn’t miss a beat!

Despite the rain, Chelsea was picture perfect in her vintage inspired gown with its deep V neckline and sparkling beaded bodice. Her bridesmaids’ non-matching gowns in shades of pink and blush gave them a light, airy look that was simply stunning and Nick and his Best Man were dapper in different shades of blue, while the groomsmen went for a more casual, jacket-less look.

After the “I do’s” were said, the reception tent was again transformed. Long tables featuring burlap runners, delicate white and pink arrangements of peonies and wildflowers in ball jars were accented with netting, rope and wooden candle holders that mimicked the docks outside to complete the nautical themed decor. Draped tulle and white twinkle lights gave the space a soft glow and the museum offered Chelsea and Nick some wonderfully unique photographic opportunities.

Chelsea, Nick and their guests didn’t let the weather stop them from having an amazing night filled with food, fun and dancing. Proving that even if things don’t go exactly as planned on your wedding day, what’s important is surrounding yourself and your new spouse with love, laughter and lightheartedness!
