Jessica and Alexis chose The Barn at Valhalla in Chapel Hill, North Carolina for their wedding. The venue was the perfect place for guests to spend not just the day with the happy couple, but most of the weekend. Alexis is French, so he and Jessica planned their wedding in the traditional European style, allowing for breaks between each segment of the day. They started with an outdoor ceremony under an arbor decorated in rich florals.
Jessica looked like a dream in her lace gown with its long train and sheer detailing and her bridesmaids sea foam green dresses enhanced the French countryside inspired styling of the day. All the ladies carried bouquets of delicate pink peonies, wildflowers and eucalyptus. Alexis and his groomsmen looked handsome in gray suits, Alexis with a black vest and straight gray tie.
After the ceremony, guests were invited to relax and enjoy the barn’s bucolic surroundings. They played lawn games and took in the scenery before attending any or all of the days events. Inside the barn, tables were set up family style and decorated with delicate florals, burlap runners and plenty of glowing votive candles to add ambiance. Throughout the day, there was a cocktail reception, dinner, a dessert reception and an after party, which allowed Jessica and Alexis to spend plenty of time with each of their guests, some of whom had traveled from overseas to celebrate with them.
