Jessica and Zach’s Rustic Outdoor Wedding

by Amy Serrago

Jessica and Zach got married at Macedonia Hills in Newnan, Georgia, about 30 minutes outside of bustling Atlanta. The couple chose to get out of the city and share a rustic and fun outdoor celebration of their love with their friends and family. The ceremony took place outside the venue’s historic barn with its perfectly graying wood as a backdrop for the rich navy blue and yellow color scheme. Jessica’s adorable daughter, Raya served as the flower girl at this St. Patrick’s day wedding and Jessica and Zach chose to honor their Irish heritage and their faith by adding a traditional Irish “God’s Knot” tying into their ceremony. Three pieces of rope, one representing the bride, one representing the groom and one representing God are braided together by the couple to symbolize the strength they share now that they have been joined in matrimony.

Jessica was beautifully boho in her vintage-inspired lace gown with its delicate cap sleeves and deep V back. She finished her look with classic pearl accessories and a hint of baby’s breath in her stunning red hair. Her bridesmaids wore flowing navy blue chiffon gowns and all of the ladies carried yellow roses with calla lily accents. Zach was dapper in his gray suit which he paired with a navy blue vest and yellow tie. His groomsmen opted to leave the jackets off for a more casual look and paired their navy vests with gray ties. Each gentleman pinned a simple yellow rose boutonnière to his lapel.

At the reception, wooden tables were set with burlap runners, greenery and ball jars of baby’s breath. Plenty of votives gave the space a warm glow and navy blue napkins sat atop vintage-inspired plates. Jessica and Zach incorporated family pictures into their reception decor and offered fun beer koozies that read “eat, drink and be married” as favors. In lieu of a traditional guest book, the couple placed a globe near the gift table with a sign bearing the words “you mean the world to us, please sign our globe” and their “naked” cake was displayed on table held up by rustic barrels and draped with an antique lace cloth. After dinner and speeches to wish the couple well, Jessica, Zach and their guests danced the night away under a tent decked out with strung Edison lights. Congratulations Jessica and Zach!
