Meredith and James’s Quaint Country Wedding by the Falls

by Amy Serrago

Meredith loves the beach and James is a mountain man at heart, so this adventurous Atlanta couple knew they wanted to get out of the city for their big day. They chose the versatile and beautiful Hightower Falls for its gorgeous waterfall, its stunning grounds and its proximity to their hometown. It’s only one hour from the city, but a world away. The day started with first looks on the wooden bridge before the pair exchanged vows beside the rushing waters of the falls. Including a water unity ceremony was the perfect acknowledgement of their breathtaking surroundings and the chamber ensemble they hired to serenade their trip down the aisle only enhanced the venue’s bucolic atmosphere.

Meredith looked amazing in her lace A-line gown with its sweetheart neckline and sweep train. She topped off her look with a boho inspired hairstyle that formed a braided crown atop her locks and a delicate pendant necklace. James was handsome in a three piece gray suit with silk accents along the lapel, he paired it with a gray tie for a chic, monochromatic look. The couple opted not to have a bridal party to keep things simple and focus on having an awesome time in their wooded retreat-like location.

At the reception, the barn-like space was elegantly decorated with hanging paper lanterns, draped white fabric and strung Edison lights and fun photos of the couple were displayed throughout the room. Meredith’s pink, blue and white bouquet’s multi-colored theme ran throughout the decor and the couple provided fun beer koozies in those shades for their guests. Instead of a guest book, they had a poster designed that all the guests could sign to commemorate their day and personalized travel candles made terrific party favors. After dinner, it was all about the dance floor. Meredith and James hired a live band to rock out so their guests could dance all night, and that they did! When it was time to say goodnight to the bride and groom, their friends and family saw them off with a shower of floating bubbles as they left to enjoy their honeymoon!
