Abi and Holly’s Romantic Medieval Castle Wedding

by Amy Serrago

Abi and Holly are actresses who hail from the North East region of England. Together, they run a local theater company called Theatre Makers. These two talented women decided to embrace their flair for the dramatic and say “I do” at Durham University’s historic and enchanting, Durham Castle. The pair exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony in the chapel before moving to the Great Hall, which dates back to 1284, for their reception.

Both ladies chose dreamy gowns, perfect for a fairytale, castle wedding. Holly chose a flowing, A-line stunner with lacy sheer sleeves and a ruched halter neckline and Abi was lovely in her empire-waisted ballgown with its sweetheart bodice and lace overlay. Each bride carried a single red rose with baby’s breath. Their bridesmaids wore navy blue and their dads were handsome in gray suits as they walked their daughters down the aisle. After their first kiss as a married couple, Abi and Holly spent time exploring the castle’s gardens, capturing some gorgeous couple’s portraits along the way, thanks to their talented photographer, Simon Hogben. Before the wedding feast was served, the brides shared their first dance in the Great Hall, surrounded by friends and family. After dinner, everyone took to the dance floor to celebrate this beautiful couple’s union in style. Congratulations Abi and Holly!
