Shelby and Andrew met at a Mexican restaurant in their hometown of Franklin, Georgia. Shelby was working as a server and Andrew would frequently come in with the kids he coaches. He’s been a competitive dirt biker since he was a kid and now he teaches the next generation of competitors the sport. Shelby says that since they’ve been together one of her favorite activities is cheering Andrew and his students on at the track. It was on a cruise to Mexico that Andrew asked Shelby to be his wife, they were right on the beach in Cozumel, looking out over what Shelby describes as the “most blue water” she’d ever seen. She was completely surprised by his question, but of course, she said yes!
For their engagement shoot, their photographer, Lacy, of Lacy Matusek Photography, decided it would be fun to start their engagement where they first met, so they ordered a round of margaritas and some spicy queso and just had a great time together. Then they ventured out to the park and got some shots with their adorable fur baby before dressing up for some more formal portraits. We love the different settings that show the different sides of their personalities. We also love the story behind Shelby’s ring. The center diamond is from Andrew’s great-grandmother’s ring. She and Andrew’s great-grandfather were married for 73 years! Shelby says she hopes to follow in their footsteps. Congratulations you two, we can’t wait to see the wedding photos!
