Cody says he knew Alex was “the one” the moment he met her. It took Alex a bit longer to figure that out, but she says when she first met Cody, she “thought he was the most handsome ever and wouldn’t even sit by him” because she was so nervous! Their wedding day started with first looks in the gardens of the Ewing Cultural Center on the Illinois State campus. Then, the happy couple exchanged vows beside a curtained arbor adorned with lush greenery and pastel florals. Their ceremony was filled with love, laughter and joyful tears.
Alex was stunning in her BHLDN gown with its delicate lace and chapel train. She finished her look with a fingertip veil and carried a gorgeous bouquet of purple pastel roses with wildflower and eucalyptus accents. Her bridesmaids were perfectly styled for a garden wedding in lacy cocktail dresses in pale shades of pink and purple. Cody was handsome in his light gray suit and pale pink bow tie and his groomsmen were dapper in blue suspenders and bowties.
The tented reception was decked out in pastel florals and plenty of lush greenery. Gold accents like votives and geometric lanterns completed the tablescapes and rustic details tied the garden theme together. The newlyweds were honored by speeches from the wedding party during dinner and as the sun set they shared their first dance as husband and wife. Hundreds of Strung Edison lights cast a romantic glow over the space while the dance floor kept rocking all night. Congratulations Alex and Cody!
