John proposed to Judy while they were on vacation in the Dominican Republic. They’d booked a week at an all inclusive resort, but John couldn’t muster the courage to pop the question until the last day of their trip, Valentine’s Day. He arranged a private photo shoot for them and as the photographer was preparing to capture some of the last shots of the day, John pulled out a ring and asked Judy to be his bride. And it was all captured on camera! Of course, she said yes and wedding planning was underway. Both Judy and John wanted to include cultural traditions from their Chinese and Vietnamese heritages. Their day started with a traditional Vietnamese ceremony before their official American ceremony. Judy included both Chinese and Vietnamese design elements in the styling of her bridal party and she wore red, a Chinese tradition.
Judy was gorgeous in both of her looks! Her American-style wedding gown was a fitted lace stunner with a dramatic train that she paired with a fingertip veil. Her bridesmaids were pretty in pale lavender and all of the ladies carried rose bouquets. John and his groomsmen were handsome in black tuxes for both ceremonies.
For the reception, Judy and John decided on a gold, white and lavender color scheme. Their venue, Alden Castle in Brookline, MA, handled most of their wedding decor which featured white and lavender florals and sexy purple uplighting. Lighted signs that spelled “love” and the couple’s initials gave the decor sparkle and guests had fun posing in the photo booth. In lieu of a traditional guest book, friends and family were invited to sign tiny wooden hearts that would fit into a frame the newlyweds can hang in their home. After dinner, the dance floor was filled as Judy and John celebrated into the night! Congratulations you two!
