Joelle and Henry’s Cabo Destination Wedding

by Amy Serrago

Henry proposed to Joelle on a cold March night outside her parents’ house in the suburbs of Chicago. Joelle was initially suspicious of his intentions, but Henry did a great job of throwing her off the trail during their dinner date. However, when they got back to her folks’ house, there were lights in the window that spelled out “Will You Marry Me”. She said yes before Henry could even finish reciting the poem he’d written for her. The whole family was too excited to contain themselves and so they popped the champagne in celebration. Flora Farms in San Jose del Cabo was an easy choice for Henry and Joelle. Joelle’s parents had taken them there on their last trip to Cabo and they simply fell in love with the place.

The ceremony took place beside a greenery and white floral arch and Joelle was gorgeous in her A line gown with its beaded belt and removable lace jacket. Her bridesmaids were pretty in pale pink dresses and all of the ladies carried bouquets of white flowers with lush greenery. Henry and his groomsmen were handsome in blue suits with cornflower blue ties and Henry gave each of the guys his own uniquely patterned leather belt.

Dinner was served al fresco under the romantic glow of hundreds of twinkle lights. Tables were set with white linens, brass candlesticks and crystal goblets and the centerpieces were a mix of white flowers with pops of blue from some well-placed anemones. Henry loves animals, so he and Joelle took a moment to pose with a resident burro before sharing their first married meal at their sweetheart table. After dinner, there was dancing in the farm’s brick pavilion and guests enjoyed a slice of “naked” wedding cake while shaking their wedding favors, traditional maracas. Congratulations Joelle and Henry!
