If you’re planning your wedding, you know there are a lot of moving parts to arrange. From finding a venue for the rehearsal dinner, a venue for the ceremony, a venue for the reception and shuttling everyone back and forth, everything needs to be coordinated perfectly so that the day goes smoothly and everyone can enjoy themselves. Why not take some of the stress away by holding everything in one venue and making a leisurely weekend of your wedding?
Briar Patch Bed & Breakfast Inn is one of the few unique venues in the area that gives you the option to rent out their whole place for the weekend.
“One of the things that makes us quite unique is the fact that we have 12 bedrooms so people can surround themselves with family and friends for the whole weekend or either Saturday or Sunday,” said Ellen Goldberg, owner of the B&B. “That makes a big difference in not having to rush around between one venue to another. They can do everything on site. People find it quite relaxing to be able to spend the weekend together. Most of our weddings turn out to be weekend weddings.”
The venue offers options for indoor, outdoor and a combination of activities for your wedding.
“Most people do the rehearsal dinner outside, most of them by the pool in good weather, on Friday night. The ceremony is usually held outdoors in one of three locations on our property outdoors. Most people do the cocktail reception outdoors and then go inside in our event building (that holds up to 200 people) for dinner and dancing. That building is big enough to do everything inside if it’s not good weather,” Goldberg said.
The property has three scenic outdoor spots where you can have your ceremony. Their upper ceremony site has a sprawling view of Bull Run Mountain. That site is shaded starting in the late afternoon. The sites to the front and side of the main house are both shaded for most of the day with views of neighboring horse paddocks, white fences and 200-year-old trees. If the weather doesn’t cooperate for an outdoor ceremony, the indoor facility for your ceremony also has amazing mountain views.
You’ll have your choice of dining options from a caterer of your choice, as the venue allows any licensed and insured caterer to provide food for your wedding. If you’re not familiar with local caterers, they also have a list of their favorites for you to work with.
Their indoor facilities offer bathrooms, heat and air conditioning to keep you and your guests comfortable. You and your guests can enjoy a swim during most of the season, as their pool is open from late April through October, or unwind after your wedding with a soak in their hot tub. Make your wedding a weekend experience your whole family can enjoy!
