The styled shoot was the brainchild of photographer Lauren Anderson. We asked her to contribute to this story and here are her thoughts. “I have always been so inspired by the way wedding details collide to create a dream-come-true day for my couples. My vision for this shoot was to create visuals that honored the small details just as much as the predictable details while weaving in non-traditional wedding elements. It is important to me that my images convey emotion and capture the love that is shared. This shoot represents how I see the world around me and I hope people who see the images are uplifted by the bright & airy feel.”
This shoot took place at a brand new venue built in a barn style in the country just a few miles north of Peoria, Illinois. Our models were a husband/wife who just celebrated the 10th anniversary and you can tell they are more in love than ever by looking at their photos.
As a florist, I love photographers who have a bright and airy look as the flowers are more true to life than dark and moody photography. When Lauren asked me to partner with her to create the floral designs, I jumped at the chance knowing that I would get some fantastic photos of my designs. We had the shoot originally planned for the middle of March and I had already received all the flowers when our governor ordered the shut-down because of Covid-19 virus. I was able to save the dried grasses, but had to re-order all the fresh flowers in again when our state reopened in June. It was a labor of love for me to create Lauren’s vision!
