It was a perfectly chilly Michigan fall day, and Megan and Andrew’s vision for a cozy, family-focused backyard wedding came to life beautifully!
I absolutely loved that they had so many meaningful details. The locket Megan wore was given to her grandmother by her grandfather during his service in WWII, her handbag was made by her mother, and their ceremony arbor was made by her uncle. Plum, navy, and other fall colors were incorporated flawlessly – I love it when a variety of colors come together!
If you’re looking for an idea of how to incorporate a baby gender reveal into your wedding day…look no further! Megan and Andrew’s confetti announcement after they said “I do” was the perfect way to celebrate the news with everyone. All you need is a box stuffed with the appropriate confetti, enough zip ties to make the Maid of Honor confident the box is secure, and a string for the couple to pull when the time is right.
Fall backyard wedding pro tips from Megan & Andrew: string lights up wherever you can (it gets darker earlier this time of year and is often cloudy), bring in a food truck that offers delicious comfort food (because who doesn’t want to eat homemade style mac and cheese with pulled pork?!), and definitely have some fires roaring (I mean, c’mon – snuggling up to your new husband/wife next to a fire is a pretty amazing way to enjoy some quiet Just Married moments).
Megan and Andrew, it was an absolute privilege to be a part of your wedding day; to capture your once-in-a-lifetime memories, and to meet and celebrate with your family and friends.
