When Michelle and Tony decided that they wanted to get married, they knew they wanted to keep it small. They’re the kind of people who really don’t like to be the center of attention and value quality connection when they spend time with people. An intimate wedding was the obvious choice for them, and knowing it would be only their families in attendance there was no better place to get married than a place that is already full of comfort and fond memories– Tony’s family beach house where they vacation frequently.
We started the day with Michelle getting ready at the beach house with almost all the other guests around! The entire first floor of the house was a flurry of hair & make-up, catering delivery, and kids playing. Tony arrived and the two enjoyed their private First Look moment on the beach.
After the First Look, family photos followed, then Michelle took time to hand out their wedding favors while they waited for the officiant to arrive for the ceremony. The wedding favors were custom created cookbooks featuring their favorite recipes and their engagement photos! This is a favor every guest was sure to love and cherish for years to come. Michelle and Tony’s mom and sisters helped put the cupcake tower together decorated in a sea theme to match the beachy wedding complete with bride and groom shark cake toppers!
As part of their wedding ceremony, Michelle and Tony had an anniversary box. Over the days leading up to the wedding, they each took time to write a letter to the other about how and what they were feeling as the big day approached. During the wedding, they locked those unread letters in a box with a bottle of wine to be opened and shared on their first wedding anniversary.
Their reception was a very simple, catered buffet which they served in the kitchen and ate on the porch overlooking the beach and Long Island Sound. During the meal, there were a few toasts but otherwise, it was just a time for Michelle and Tony to enjoy being newly married surrounded by their families, basking in the glow of love.
