Whitney and Kent’s love story began with a meet-cute at Café Aqui, a charming local coffee shop, in Rochester MN and blossomed into a deep and heartfelt connection. Their story reached a new chapter when Kent knelt among golden fields of sunflowers — Whitney’s favorite — and asked her to be his forever.

Kent being a young lawyer and Whitney being a young Mayo Clinic physician, the duo eager to start their life together, they chose to forgo the elaborate planning of a big wedding and instead chose an intimate destination wedding in New York City not bound by wedding day hassle and timeline.—NYC is a place woven with meaning for the bride’s family. Their ceremony was held at the stunning Park Avenue Synagogue with a sacred service accompanied by the unforgettable voice of Cantor Azi Schwartz .

Their wedding weekend unfolded like a romantic film. Over two magical days, the couple explored the city hand-in-hand, capturing moments in iconic locations that echoed with beauty and history. They wandered the hallowed halls and marble staircases of the New York Public Library, its grandeur a perfect match for their elegant love. Flurries of snow danced through the air as they strolled through Central Park, where they stopped to take photos at Bow Bridge, Bethesda Terrace, The Mall, and even the whimsical carousel. A Nigerian method of doing laundry by hand was a life-saver after the bride’s dress was muddied during our stroll through Central Park

Adding a sentimental touch to her bridal look, Whitney wore a garter as her “something borrowed and something blue” — the same one her mother had worn nearly 40 years earlier.

To their amazement following their ceremony, they were gifted with the most beautiful snowfall the city had seen all winter. The weekend culminated in a dreamy, cinematic photoshoot on the snow-dusted streets of Manhattan, as if the whole city had transformed into a magical snow globe just for them. It was an enchanting weekend of love, wonder, and perfect beginnings.

This wedding was about simplicity so much that the bride did not wear any makeup except for mascara and lip gloss and honestly she looked amazing!
