Lauren and Joey’s Beautiful Wedding at JW Marriott Charlotte

Our Story

Lauren and Joey met on New Year’s Eve 2019, some would say by an odd twist of fate. A New Year’s Eve party that came together quickly, Lauren‘s random roommate who happened to be Joey‘s childhood friend, and an empty apartment with Joey unknowingly waiting for Lauren was the recipe for this day. Lauren and her roommate Sarah decided to throw together a New Year’s Eve party heading into the year 2020. It was going to be an amazing year, little did we know that the pandemic would happen! Sarah asked Lauren if she could invite a few friends to stay over after the party, to which Lauren of course says yes. Lauren did not know that one of the friends that she was talking about happened to be Joey. Lauren walked into her apartment to find a random man sitting on the couch, where each first impression was a jump scare! But, they shared their first kiss at midnight and the rest was history!

Why the napkins on our heads?  We have a tradition in our family that we put napkins on our head, kind of weird! Whatever Bruce Springsteen comes on, that’s when the napkins come out. My uncle started it over 15 years ago and it happens at every family wedding. We even got an extra set of napkins for this purpose!
