Emily and Joe knew from the start they wanted to have a fall wedding. Its their favorite season and during the planning process, autumn found its way into everything, from the colors to the decor and even the cider and doughnut holes the couple served with appetizers. Because of their fall theme, Emily and Joe incorporated some of their favorite aspects of the season like fall festivals, apple picking and of course, the changing colors of the trees into their celebration. They chose a vibrant cranberry red as their inspiration color and from there the decor just seemed to “fall” into place. Their upstate New York venue was outdoors, so nature provided much of the backdrop, but the two focused their efforts on adding accent pieces, like the wooden crates filled with apples they bought from a local farm to frame the gift table and of course, the floral arrangements added deep rich hues to the landscape.
This laid back couple met as college freshmen in Buffalo, NY and quickly joined the same small group of friends. By the spring they were dating and their friends, many of whom were at the wedding, started to joke that they would break up the friend circle. Emily and Joe certainly proved them wrong!
Emily wanted a simple but elegant look for her big day, she wore a Stella York, A-line lace gown, with beaded detail throughout. She paired her gown with Tiffany pearl earrings and wore her grandmother’s diamond ring in addition to her engagement ring. Joe wore a grey Joseph Abboud suit with with a cream and grey tie from Men’s Warehouse.
Many of Emily and Joe’s family and friends travelled quite a bit to be at their wedding, so it was important to the couple that they show everyone a great time. Emily’s favorite memory of the night was towards the end when she finally go to sit and watch her guests laughing and partying on the dance floor. It was everything she could have hoped for!
