Jennifer and Kevin’s Elegant Black-Tie Affair

Jennifer and Kevin met in high school, they hung out with the same group of friends, but it took them a while to realize their feelings for one another. It wasn’t until they were in college that the two started dating and another nine years before they decided to tie the knot. Jennifer and Kevin wanted a formal wedding with the gentlemen in black-tie and the ladies in evening gowns and they wanted to make sure their guests had an amazing time!

They held their traditional ceremony in a nearby church before heading to The Grove in New Jersey where they kicked off their reception with an international cocktail hour featuring appetizers of all different cuisines and, of course, a tequila bar!

Instead of any specific theme for their wedding, Jennifer and Kevin focused on giving their traditional summertime ballroom reception a light and airy feel by showcasing soft pinks and pastels in their decor. Jennifer’s bridesmaids wore pale pink gowns and their bouquets were a mix of white and pastel roses. Jennifer looked gorgeous in her vintage inspired, lace mermaid cut Jim Hjelm gown which featured crystal accents along the waistline and Kevin and his groomsmen were handsome in Hugo Boss tuxes.

Jennifer and Kevin opted to make a donation to a local hospice in their guests’ names in lieu of traditional favors, a great way to give something back on their special day. They also threw some modern twists at their traditional wedding with touches like a photo booth and a live wedding painter who created a custom portrait of the couple’s first dance together during the reception!
