Laura and Alan got married at the home of a friend in the mountains of West Virginia. The location boasted unbelievable views of the surrounding mountains and offered them the laid back feeling of a home away from home. The couple decided to forgo a traditional bridal party and had a simple ceremony with just a maid of honor and best man as witnesses. Alan’s adorable nephews and the couple’s dogs completed the entourage while solo acoustic guitar provided the perfect accompaniment to the moment.
After the ceremony, overlooking the valley below the home’s mountain perch, Laura, Alan and their guests enjoyed a family style meal under a tent on the grounds of the property. They kept the decor simple, but went for colorful florals that popped against the backdrop of greenery that surrounded them.
Once dinner was done, Laura and Alan shared their first dance as husband and wife before engaging in wedding games like the shoe game. The laid back, family friendly atmosphere they achieved by having their wedding at a friend’s home was the perfect fit for them. The kids and dogs were able to play while the adults danced and caught up with one another. Laura looked radiant in her princess cut ball gown and Alan was perfectly debonair in his traditional black tuxedo with long grey tie.
