Emily and Rob’s wedding had a metallic modern vintage theme, which Emily says, “sounds like an oxymoron,” but with featured vintage pieces, clean white florals with pops of greenery and accents of all different metallic tones, their decor was a dream. They held the ceremony in Emily’s childhood church which was particularly emotional for her. “I could not keep it together while my dad was walking me down the aisle. It is a moment I will never forget.” And the greenery that lined the aisles not only popped against the light wood of the church’s vaulted ceiling, but transitioned beautifully to the reception where it was used as a runner for the head table.
After the ceremony, it was on to the Via Vecchia Winery which was decked out in metallics for Emily and Rob’s reception. Metallic napkins, sequined table cloths and varying sizes of gold, silver, and bronze votives and lanterns adorned the tables and vintage-inspred crystal chandeliers were hung above the space just for them. Emily wanted to keep the decor stunning, but minimal. “The venue was so beautiful and had so much character that I didn’t want to over do it.” The table numbers, repurposed vintage mirrors that Emily had collected from local antique shops, were a perfect DIY touch and really popped against the floral centerpieces which featured lush greenery, dahlias, succulents, and Queen Anne’s lace.
Emily says she kept an open mind when it came to her dress and it paid off! She was absolutely gorgeous in her gown with its beading, lace details and full skirt. It was perfect, except for the sleeves. Emily “didn’t want full-length sleeves for a hot July wedding.” After altering the dress to create lace cap sleeves, the original detailing was added to her veil for a personalized matching piece. Rob wanted his suit to stand out. The typical black or grey just isn’t his style. He knew he found perfection when he put on his midnight blue Calvin Klein fitted suit. The final touch to his wedding day outfit was a bow tie and suspenders, which he loves to wear when suiting up. The wedding party’s styling was completed by the bridesmaids’ vintage-inspired blush gowns and the groomsmen’s gray suits with blue ties to match Rob.
Emily says the reception’s traditional Italian-American cookie table was one of her favorite aspects of the day. “Our mothers, aunts, and close family friends made hundreds of cookies. It was quite the spread. As wedding favors, we had personalized bags for people to fill with their favorite cookies. It is a tradition in my family, and my mother was thrilled she was able to keep it going.” What a delicious tradition!
