Meredith and Steve planned every part of their wedding to showcase their shared love of nature and it showed. They held their ceremony at Steve’s grandparents’ garden, by the water in Kingston, Rhode Island, surrounded by lush azalea bushes and historic stone walls. After their vows were exchanged their guests were treated to a cocktail hour during which they could mingle and walk the absolutely stunning gardens.
Meredith’s smile was infectious and she looked flawless in her drop waisted gown with it’s lace bodice and full skirting. Her bridesmaids dresses were the same shade as the rich blue sky that graced the day and Steve and his groomsmen were picture perfect in gray suits. The vibrant floral bouquets and boutonnières that completed the wedding party’s look played perfectly off of the colorful ceremony gardens.
After all of their guests had the opportunity to experience the gardens, Meredith and Steve’s celebration moved to nearby Camp Hoffman. There they had a rustically styled reception that was filled with personalized DIY accents, all handmade by the couple or a family member. The trees at the entrance of the camp were lined with photos telling the couple’s story and at the reception hall, there were two larger “family trees” adorned with photos of Meredith and Steve’s family and wedding party. They had a polaroid photo booth with hanging picture frame backdrop and strung Edison lights lined the camp. Inside the reception space, paper lanterns were hung over the dance floor, lending a whimsical feel that was only enhanced by the row boat bar that Meredith and Steve made themselves. Lanterns, votive candles and greenery sat atop white linens on the main table and birch wood accents played on the rustic theme of the day. We are in love with the stunning outdoorsy themed wedding cake, which was lovingly made by Steve’s mom. A great touch. You go, Mom!!
