Megan and Adam: At Home and Away

Megan and Adam met while traveling overseas, so they knew they wanted a destination wedding to start their new life together with an adventure. Megan says, “we knew we wanted to be on the beach somewhere, with Coronas in our hand and sand on our feet, laughing and making memories with our family.” They had a unique wedding week, starting with an intimate ceremony at home in San Francisco with just their parents and siblings. After showing their families their favorite places in their home city, they all flew down to Sayulita, Mexico for a beach ceremony and reception fiesta!

For her San Francisco ceremony, Megan wore a short off-the-shoulder Valentino dress which she paired with royal blue pumps to match Adam’s J. Crew Ludlow suit. The two were adorable and perfectly styled for an urban wedding ceremony. For the beach ceremony a few days later, Megan chose an Ana Sui Roane gown that she says she really fell in love with once it was altered, “Sarah Liller did an amazing job and turned a pretty dress into my amazing wedding gown!” We love it’s antique-inspired styling and its lightness was perfect for the beach. She was absolutely stunning in both looks.

When it came to details, Megan relied heavily on their planner, Yazmin, saying “she somehow was able to figure out our dream wedding without us even realizing what we had wanted.” Megan and Adam rented a series of houses on a private beachfront compound and spent the week with their families exploring the area. It was a great opportunity for everyone to get to know each other. Their dads are now best buds and their moms are already planning their next trip together!

Yazmin took care of most of the details for Sayulita, but the couple put together welcome bags, that included matching sunglasses that everyone wore for the week. Their closest friend from their time spent in the Peace Corps performed their beach ceremony under a beautiful palm frond arch and Megan says, “hearing her words while on the beach at sunset surrounded by our closest family and friends was incredibly special.” As soon as the ceremony finished, Megan and Adam were surprised by the live mariachi band that serenaded them on the beach and at the reception, guests enjoyed an al pastor stand, a churro stand and “a huge dance party.” The live band, Troker, kept this adventurous couple and their friends and family on the floor all night!
