Emily and Ben: Vintage Inspired Romance

Emily drew inspiration for her wedding from the pink roses and hydrangea in her parents’ back yard. She wanted plenty of flowers, lush green lawns and a vintage, romantic feel. Initially she focused her search on outdoor venues, but decided on the Kittanning Country Club because it not only offered a beautifully shaded outdoor ceremony spot and plenty of romantic photo ops in its gardens, but also had an indoor reception space so she and Ben wouldn’t have to worry about the weather.

Emily realized her vision for vintage floral romance with the help of her mom’s amazing floral design skills and a lot of personal DIY touches. She made the tall gold floral centerpiece stands herself as well as the arbor under which she and Ben exchanged their vows. “Even my photo booth was DIY”, says Emily. She also says her dress helped to inspire her reception decor. Its delicately beaded bodice and traditional ball gown cut were perfect for her theme and she looked radiant surrounded by her bridesmaids in their glittering gold gowns. There were plenty of gold accents infused into the decor as well, the chairs, chargers and votive candles all added a touch of the color, enhancing the romantic vintage theme of the day.

Ben looked dapper in his three piece gray suit with its cream colored vest and tie. His groomsmen’s gray suits were paired with matching vests and black ties and his mother and sister helped out with a DIY project of their own. Emily’s aunt had recently passed away and her new mother and sister-in-law made her a special remembrance to carry with her that day. They framed a tiny photo of the two of them and tied a ribbon around it so that it could be attached to her bridal bouquet. Such a wonderfully thoughtful gift!
