Amy and Shane met and fell in love in Boston, but when it came time to tie the knot they went back to their roots and celebrated in true Chicago style. They started with a traditional Catholic ceremony at Old St. Pat’s, a Chi-town landmark, before heading to the Chicago Athletic Association (the same spot where Shane proposed) for an elegant, glamour-filled reception. Of course, this fun couple took time to get some photos on the streets of the iconic “Second City” along the way!
Amy was absolutely beautiful in her satin mermaid cut gown with its strapless, sweetheart neckline and full, sheer overlay in flowing chiffon. She finished her look with clustered pearl earrings and a long veil for added glamour. Her bridesmaids were elegant in beaded silver gowns and all of the ladies carried bouquets of roses, Amy’s in all white and her ladies’ with accents of red. Shane and his groomsmen were dapper in classic black tuxedos, perfect for the luxurious setting of the Athletic Association’s historic “Windy City Ballroom”.
The ballroom’s floor to ceiling windows offered guests a stunning view of downtown Chicago and the rich dark wood walls created a warm, luxurious vibe perfect for an evening of celebration. Tables were set with cream colored linens and centerpieces of white roses with plenty of lush green accents. After dinner, Amy got a chance to try her skills behind the bar before she and Shane cut their Chicago themed wedding cake and danced the night away to the sounds of the live band, Great Life Music!
