Abby and Peter’s Boho-Chic Barn Wedding

Abby and Peter are a fun and adventurous couple who fell in love with the Mayowood Stone Barn the moment they saw it. They say it “just felt right” and with its gorgeous views, stunning landscape and richly historied barn, we can totally see why. The pair had planned an outdoor ceremony, but when it looked like rain might change that plan they made a quick decision. Abby and Peter had a small outdoor ceremony with just their wedding party and families, before the rain started to fall. Then they quickly reset their rustic birchwood altar inside the barn. When all of their guests had arrived, they did the whole thing again indoors, keeping their guests dry without sacrificing their dream ceremony.

Abby made the perfect boho bride in her fitted lace gown with its strapless sweetheart neckline and sweep train. She finished her look with a crown of flowers, a style echoed by her bridesmaids who wore non-matching pastel gowns, all with a boho-chic flair. Each lady carried a bouquet of lush greenery and delicate white wildflowers, with eucalyptus taking center stage. Abby’s bouquet also featured stunning blossoms of chrysanthemums and roses in rich plums and deep pinks. Peter and his guys were handsome in navy blue with brown leather shoes and suspenders. They paired their suits with different ties in light shades of blue and green and while Peter kept his jacket on, his groomsmen chose to go jacket-less for a laid back look.

Inside the barn, strung Edison lights and plenty of votive candles gave the space a romantic glow and rustic decorative elements like wood and antler centerpieces were accented by bouquets of greenery and white hydrangea. Flower wreaths and gold details were hung high above the dance floor and a vintage-inspired chandelier in the center of the room tied the decor together beautifully. After dinner and toasts from Abby & Peter’s loved ones, the couple and their guests took to the dance floor to party and pay special tribute to Abby’s grandparents who were celebrating 67 years of marriage that day!
