Sarah and Todd’s vision of the perfect wedding was “country chic”. They wanted glamour infused into their rustic wedding and chose Starlight Meadow in Burlington, North Carolina for is stunning barn and wide open spaces. The day started at the couple’s nearby and newly renovated home where Sarah and the ladies in the wedding party got ready and posed for some pictures. Once they got to the venue, the ceremony was held outside in front of the barn’s perfectly patinated siding and large wooden sliding doors. The altar was made out of an antique fireplace mantel and decorated with flowing white curtains, vintage candlesticks, fern rope and rich pink and white florals. The pair really created a spectacular back drop for their “I dos”.
Sarah was stunning in her empire waisted gown with its flowing lace skirting and delicately ruched bodice with sparkling beaded belt. She completed her look with a sleek chignon, vintage-inspired earrings and navy blue shoes to match her bridesmaids styling. The ladies’ navy blue gowns featured lace bodices and off the shoulder stying, while the junior bridesmaids were pretty in pink. All of the ladies carried delicate bouquets of white hydrangea and pink roses with blue thistle accents. Todd and his groomsmen were dapper in classic navy suits which they paired with pale blush straight ties and blue thistle boutonnieres.
At the reception, tables were set with navy blue linens and gold-rimmed chargers. Gold flatware, fern rope and floating candles gave the room a polished look that was the perfect contrast to the rustic wood of the barn. Pink napkins were rolled tightly into gold trimmed coffee cups, creating a floral-like bud that mimicked the pink peonies and roses in the centerpieces. The happy couple got the party started with their first dance as husband and wife before sitting down to dine with friends and family in the gorgeous setting they had planned to the smallest detail, like the rustic, flower filled lanterns and antique cloth that draped over their sweetheart table. When it was time to say goodnight, Sarah and Todd’s guests did so with a romantic and fun sparkler send off.
