Autumn and Brett’s Vintage Chic Barn Wedding

Autumn and Brett met on a hike Brett led when he was working at Sarrett Nature Center in Michigan. They hit it off immediately talking about the genetic mutation of a two-toned squirrel they had just seen. Because Brett didn’t have the exact answer to Autumn’s question, he had the perfect excuse to reach out to her again. That first conversation led to many more and eventually, Brett asked Autumn a question of his own. Of course, she said yes and these two nature lovers set out to plan the perfect wedding. They chose Blue Dress Barn, a gorgeous historic barn venue in Benton Harbor. It was the prefect place for them to include the great outdoors in their special day, with its stunning outdoor ceremony site and unique reception barn with plenty of vintage touches and fun and funky styling.

Autumn was stunning in her lace mermaid cut gown with its sheer detailing and sparkling crystal accents. She finished her look with a classic updo, sparkling accessories and silver strappy sandals. Her bridesmaids could’ve been her something blue in their sky toned lace cocktail dresses which were perfectly paired with contrasting bouquets of pale pink hydrangea and peonies. Autumn’s bouquet was a vintage-feeling blend of pale blush roses and mums, speckled with baby’s breath and blue wildflowers. Brett was dashing in his dark gray suit and his groomsmen provided contrast in light gray. All of the guys wore black bow ties and classic rose boutonnières, Brett’s in white, his gents, in blush.

The reception barn was aglow with the light of the antique chandeliers and fairy lights that hung from the vaulted historic rafters and tables were set with vintage-inspired flair. Floral patterned plates sat atop metal chargers and rustic wooden accent pieces were interspersed with gold details to give the tablescapes rustic elegance. Blush and blue made up the day’s color scheme and country inspiration was all around. As the sun set on a gorgeous day, Autumn and Brett cut their wedding cake before cutting loose on the dance floor with their friends and family. Even their adorable dog was in attendance.
