Anne and Will met at a homecoming celebration when they were both attending Iowa State University. They hit it off right away, so when Thanksgiving rolled around, Will asked if Anne wanted a ride home to the Minneapolis area, where they both grew up. They had an amazing trip, full of great conversations and plenty of laughs and realized along the way that they had spent their childhoods living a mere ten minutes away from each other. They dated through college and even endured a long distance relationship for a while after graduation. It wasn’t long before they decided they couldn’t bear to be apart and ended up settling together in Kansas City, MO. It was on top of a cliff, on a nature walk in Arkansas, where they’d gone for a weekend getaway, that Will popped the question. Anne was so taken with the view she almost didn’t notice that her love was down on one knee with ring in hand, but she answered him with a resounding yes! They got started planning their wedding back home in Minneapolis right away, starting with the ceremony that would take place in the same church where Anne’s parents had exchanged their vows.
After they said “I do”, Anne, Will and their wedding party hopped on a trolley and headed to the iconic Stone Arch Bridge in downtown Minneapolis where the historic cobblestone streets and the skyline of their shared hometown provided the perfect backdrop for portraits. Anne was stunning in her ivory lace gown with its classic v-neckline and court train. Her look was completed with delicate vintage-inspired earrings and a fingertip veil. Her bridesmaids wore blush and each lady’s gown had a different bodice to enhance their unique beauty. Will and his groomsmen went for traditional elegance in black tuxedos and black patent leather shoes, they completed their looks with white pocket squares.
The reception, which was held at the Minneapolis Golf Club, was decked out in shades of pink and blush. Tables were set with crisp white linens and delicate centerpieces of white hydrangea and blush roses were interspersed with tall centerpieces that added drama to the room’s decor. The head table featured gold chargers and was draped with a runner of lush greenery. Once Anne and Will got the party started with their first dance, the DJ kept the party rocking all night while guests were treated to cigars that were hand rolled on site!
