Kate and Matt’s Vibrant Tulum Destination Wedding

by Amy Serrago

Kate is from Australia. Matt is from the United States. They literally bumped into each other when they first met while on separate vacations in Mexico. They hit it off immediately and stayed in touch after each returned their home country. They spent the next 18 months planning trips tp meet up with each other in different spots around the world, as their friendship developed into something more. They were standing on the side of a waterfall the day Matt finally proposed to Kate. She said yes and made the move to the US to be with her love. They’d been through so many adventures together, traveling the world and accomplishing things they thought were impossible, but when it came to planning their wedding, only one location seemed appropriate. They’d go back to where it all began, Mexico! So they grabbed their closest friends and family and hopped a flight to breathtaking Tulum where they said “I do” with their feet in the sand.

Kate was gorgeous in her two piece gown by Reem Acra. Its sheath cut and sexy sheer lace bodice were perfect for a romantic destination wedding. She finished her look with a long veil and sandals and she carried a luxurious bouquet of tropical florals with palm leaf accents. Her maid of honor wore royal blue, a color that was prominent in the day’s styling. Matt’s slim fit suit shared the same color as did his best man’s tie and their officiant’s jacket. Kate definitely didn’t have to look too far for her “something blue”.

At the reception, farmhouse style tables were set under an open air palapa and decorated with banana palms and vibrant magenta florals. Guests were treated to a traditional Mexican meal featuring Mayan delicacies and Matt and Kate were honored with speeches to wish them love, luck and happiness in their new married life. After dinner, the newlyweds hit the dance floor to share their first dance as husband and wife, guests were quick to join in and kept the party rocking all night. The chocolatey dessert churros were a delicious treat and Matt and Kate got a chance to capture some truly stunning sunset portraits on the beach. Congratulations Matt and Kate!
