Brody proposed to Alicia after a day of paddle boarding on the lake. He filled their apartment with helium balloons, each carrying a photo of the two of them, and tied the ring around their dog’s collar! Since she and Brody share a love of the great outdoors, Alicia wanted to showcase that at their wedding. She chose a “rustic garden” theme and aimed for elegant simplicity in the planning and decor. Their venue, Gover Ranch in Anderson, CA provided a stunning backdrop to their garden ceremony where this outdoorsy couple exchanged vows beside a wooden arbor that was lovingly handcrafted by the groom. Alicia says she wanted to let the natural beauty of the garden speak for itself, but flowers still played a big role in the wedding. Her favorite arrangement was the lush combination of blush roses and greenery that adorned Brody’s arbor creation. And even though a bit of rain fell during the ceremony, Alicia and Brody didn’t let it get them down – it’s just nature after all!
Alicia was gorgeous in her ivory lace gown with its intricate beading and sexy low-cut back. She finished her look with vintage-inspired drop earrings and a loose chignon. Her bridesmaids, all 15 of them, wore pale petal pink chiffon gowns in styles of their choosing and each lady carried a delicate bouquet of white and blush roses. Alicia’s bouquet was accented with succulents. Brody and his guys were dapper in light gray, Brody in a white vest and tie to match his bride while the groomsmen’s accessories were perfectly coordinated with the bridesmaids’ gowns.
At the reception, tables were set with crisp white linens under a warm California sky. Delicate centerpieces of blush roses and white mums sat atop burlap squares and the rain passed quickly, just in time for dinner to be served under hundreds of strung Edison lights. The couple had a photo guest book that their friends and family could have fun with and Brody flexed his DIY muscle again with the cute cupcake display he built out of an old wooden ladder he bought on Craig’s List. Alicia and Brody shared their first dance as husband and wife to get the party started on the dance floor and after they cut their naked wedding cake and served dessert to their nearly 400 guests, the party rolled on into the night. Guests saw the newlyweds (and their adorable fur baby) off with sparklers in hand. Congratulations Alicia and Brody!
