Karli and Son: Modern Boho at the Yacht Club

by Amy Serrago

Karli and Son met while doing missionary work in Mexico. She was volunteering as a nurse at a small clinic and when they would go into the community to do medical outreach, Son would come along to translate. For the proposal, Son invited Karli to meet him on the cliffs of La Joya to watch the sunset. When she arrived he had prepared a beautiful picnic of cheese, fruit and wine. They sat and enjoyed their feast and as the sun went down over the water, he popped the question. Of course, she said yes. Little did she know, he had a photographer there to capture the moment!

They exchanged vows by the water at the Coronado Cays Yacht Club in Coronado, CA as two friends sang for their processional. Karli was radiant in her fitted lace gown. She says she found it quickly. She wanted to try a dress with long sleeves, just to see how it looked, but when she tried it on all of her friends and her mom started to cry. They knew that was the dress! Son was handsome in his gray suit and burgundy tie and the wedding party’s styling was beautifully boho-chic. Sunflowers and eucalyptus took center stage in the floral styling and the day was filled with personal touches. From the centerpieces they made themselves to the song Son wrote and serenaded his bride with, Karli and Son’s wedding was truly a reflection of their free spirited, generous personalities. And when it was time to say goodnight, the newlyweds had a getaway gondola to whisk them away to their honeymoon. Congratulations Karli and Son!
