Punita and Rutvij’s Hawaiian destination wedding was a vibrant three-day celebration of different cultures and colorful style. Their weekend started with a Hawaiian style welcome party and included the Indian traditional of Sangeet, when songs are sung to the bride and groom. The ceremony opened with a Baraat, the traditional groom’s horseback processional, and highlighted Indian marriage rituals. The main event was a grand western-style reception and each part of the weekend came with its own fabulous fashion and styling.
A traditional Indian wedding ceremony takes place on a special altar called a mandap. Punita and Rutvij’s mandap was draped in bright pink fabric and lush florals and the bride and groom wore traditional Indian clothing. Punita was stunning in her pink and gold sari and Rutvij was handsome in a golden coral toned sherwani. After their first married kiss, the newlyweds changed into western wedding clothing for their grand ballroom reception. Punita wore a gorgeous silver appliquéd gown and Rutvij wore a classic black suit and bow tie.
At the reception, the sweetheart table sat on a stage and colorful pink and purple florals filled the space. Loved ones gave speeches and performed special dances to honor the happy couple. In lieu of a guest book, they signed mini wooden hearts that fit inside a keepsake frame. Floating candles twinkled atop orchid-filled vases and after dinner Punita and Rutvij danced the night away with their guests. Congratulations you two!
