SJ and Matthew met through their jobs. He sells cars and she sells insurance. One spring, SJ and a coworker went to Matthew’s dealership to discuss teaming up. But Matthew tried to sell SJ a car. She was definitely not interested! At first, SJ says she found Matthew annoying. But that changed when they joined the same young professionals meet-up group. They bonded over their shared love of football. They even spent an evening sharing stories while taking in a Steelers game at a local bar. That’s when they really hit it off.
Since that night, they’ve been inseparable. Their Saint Augustine wedding had a nature theme and started with first looks at The Marlin Club. After that, they exchanged vows in an unplugged ceremony, overlooking the water. As part of their nature theme, the trees on the waterfront served as their altar.
SJ was stunning in her mermaid cut Morilee gown. She knew it was the one the minute she tried it on. Its champagne satin and vintage lace overlay were perfect! Matthew also had a great time finding his look, he custom designed his suit at Men’s Warehouse! They made a gorgeous pair. Meanwhile, the wedding party was styled in sage green and gray. A gorgeous combination!
The reception decor was mostly DIY and featured a silver and sage color scheme. To enhance the natural beauty of their venue, SJ and Matthew added delicate floral centerpieces. SJ and her bridesmaids handmade them the night before the wedding during what she called “a big flowery slumber party”. What fun! After dinner, guests enjoyed a traditional Pittsburgh Cookie Table and Matthew’s Audi-themed groom’s cake. And at the end of the night, the newlyweds exited through a fun sparkler send off. Congratulations SJ and Matthew!
