Ali and Matt met in college. Initially they only knew each other through the varsity rowing team at their alma mater, Dartmouth. But their relationship blossomed during Ali’s senior year. They met up at a Halloween party and after that, they started spending more and more time together. Until Ali’s graduation rolled around. Matt was still a Junior and Ali was moving to Boston for work. So, they had a decision to make. Would they try long distance?
On a romantic trip to Nantucket, the pair biked up to the Sankaty Lighthouse to watch the sunset. And they made the choice to stay together even as they moved apart. Years later, Matt proposed atop that very same light house. And wedding planning was underway!
They chose to say “I do” at Riverside Farm in Pittsfield, VT because of its natural beauty, which Ali and Matt adore. They also arrived at the farm three days before their wedding to enjoy some alone time. So, by the time they exchanged vows, the place felt like home. Ali was gorgeous in her sleek sheath gown and Matt was handsome in navy blue. Their rustic wooden altar was dripping with lush florals and the wedding party was perfectly styled. The guys in blue, the ladies in shades of pink and mauve.
The reception decor featured rustic details and natural florals. Neutral linens, personal touches and hundreds of candles completed the day’s styling. Meanwhile, strung Edison lights cast a romantic glow over the space. Ali and Matt were lucky that one of Ali’s best friends from college started a bakery in the area. So, she made them three different and delicious cakes for their dessert. And at the end of the night, guests saw the couple off, sparklers in hand. Congratulations Ali and Matt!
