Just as important as the venue, the catering, the décor, the DJ, and an impeccable dress code, is the overall wedding experience and ambience. Be Seated, a premier chair cover, linen, and specialty chair rental company, ensures that their clients receive that elegant touch for wedding, wedding-related, and special-event needs.

About Be Seated
Be Seated is a Black-woman owned and operated business in Centreville, Virginia dedicated to implementing their clients’ visions by providing rental chair covers, table linens, Chiavari chairs, folding chairs, chair sashes, and royalty throne chairs for wedding ceremonies, receptions, and bridal showers. The variety in table and chair cover styles, as well as linen and chair ties, show great detail, style, and sophistication.
“We take the ordinary and make it amazing,” says Janeen Parrott, creator and owner of the Wedding Wire Award winning company since January 2010.
In addition to providing chair decorations and services for weddings, bridal showers, and engagement parties, Be Seated has also assisted with day-of setup and cleanup of table centerpieces and décor for other spaces in wedding venues. Special events they’ve worked include birthday parties, anniversaries, and holiday parties. Though mainly servicing the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, location doesn’t hold them back from meeting the wedding wishes of potential clients.
“I have a car and am willing to travel to other locations upon request,” assures Parrott.
With over a decade of business under her belt, Parrott gives credit for her booming company to Erica, her friend and college roommate, who started her own business in the 2000s. When she rented chair covers for her wedding, Parrott’s friend was wholly inspired and started Be Seated in Kansas City, where she is from. Parrott helped with the first chair cover rental setup and was encouraged to create a similar business in the Washington, D.C. area. The rest is history.

A Family Affair
Parrott’s favorite aspect of her business, in addition to fulfilling the visions and ideas for her clients, is building relationships and working with industry partners to make couples’ day that much more special.
“Dressing tables and chairs, specifically tying sashes, brings me joy,” Parrott says. The Hyatt Regency Fairfax, Regency at Dominion Valley and Bull Run Golf Club, among several other partners, have worked with Parrott and Be Seated and have endorsed them as having the “best chair covers in the business” and a keen eye for elegance. Harbour View, Hilton Garden Inn Woodbridge, and Fairfax Marriott all consider Be Seated a critical part of their décor team for all their weddings and special events.
Be Seated is a small business with a lot of heart and charm. Parrott gets tremendous help from family and friends.
“My mom helps with ironing sashes and tying sashes,” says Parrott of the family affair. “My other family members, including my daughter, help to dress and undress tables and chairs, and maintain inventory.”
COVID-19
The COVID-19 pandemic hasn’t halted Be Seated’s mission. The only thing that has changed in the last year is the wearing of masks when decorating. Many people aren’t around when they dress and undress chairs and tables pre-event, so it doesn’t complicate operations. They have even worked to repurpose chair covers and linens to make beautiful and protective face masks.
Parrott’s advice to the readers of Brides & Weddings?
“Get married! Don’t let the pandemic stop you from getting married. You can always celebrate with family and friends at another date. We’ll be here to serve you!”
Be Seated has you covered.
