Country Backyard Wedding Inspiration

My son called to announce that he was getting engaged and needed my help with the wedding plans.

Being young, he had no idea how much a beautiful wedding would cost, but I immediately started running numbers in my head and pondered how I could help him get creative to have an elegant wedding on his budget.

I happened to take the call while enjoying the view of the yard from my back porch. Immediately I was inspired and thinking of ways a young couple like this could have the wedding of their dreams with a smaller budget in a setting like this. A glance at the green landscape and the fountain and I thought of an idea for a styled shoot.

I thought this would be an excellent opportunity for me to share a wedding trend I’ve seen emerging during the pandemic. At one time, backyard weddings were quite popular, and they have definitely made an appearance again. Many couples dream of having a beautiful, elegant wedding but don’t have the budget for it. With all of this in mind, I decided to show my couples how to skip the cost of booking an expensive venue and use the budget to transform an average outdoor setting into something breathtaking.

The design of the shoot was inspired by my love of nature and vibrant colors. I went with a distinct Boho elegant theme. The wedding backdrop included a base of earth tones and pops of sienna throughout to showcase an elegant bohemian mood. In July, my team of 5 talented and creative wedding vendors, led by myself, joined to create an inspirational shoot that would showcase and compliment this organic homegrown venue. The idea was to highlight the effortless and intimate vibe of a backyard wedding. Using the vibrant colors of nature and romantic bohemian inspiration, we created a shoot that blends brilliantly into the natural surroundings.

The tranquil, charming country house, TW Manor (a.k.a. my backyard) provided a stunning, serene backdrop throughout. The aim was to highlight how easily a spectacular and sophisticated wedding can be created in one’s backyard without compromising on design, detail or style and on a micro wedding budget. The gorgeous, daring bride was dressed by the T S Bridal House, wearing a sexy Bohemian, backless, mermaid lace floor-length gown. The Groom, being fashion-forward, wore a black and white classic tuxedo with sienna accents sourced by The Tuxedo Lady. The stunning cake was created in true boho style by Mack Mobile Events & Hospitality.

The impressive floral arrangement adorned the ceremony arbor and featured very chic design elements, colors and structure combinations. This flowed into the reception area featuring dramatic centerpiece arrangements and decorations, neutral tones splashed with pops of burnt orange and crimson. This was complimented by string lights and candles. We created the most beautiful, elegant affair to inspire our couples who want more for less.
