Elegant Lancaster Homestead Wedding

Michaela and Kyle’s wedding was a fairytale come true, and a photographers dream. The lighting was perfect, the bridal party was amazing and the venue was gorgeous! I love weddings at Stoltzfus Homestead. It’s a combination of rustic elegance and classy fun. In the heart of Lancaster County, Pa, so many couples choose this as their wedding venue because they long for a peaceful place of quietness and beauty.

How they met: Kyle and Mic met at school where they had the same leadership class together. They didn’t talk much until they ended up at the same Philadelphia Eagles game and connected then! Kyle couldn’t believe a girl could be so pretty, easy to talk to, and an Eagles fan! Our first date lasted 5.5 hours and shortly after he asked me to be his girlfriend at Long’s Park (in Lancaster County)!

The wedding was gorgeous. Michaela and her girls got ready at the Homestead’s stunning bridal suite. We got some great shots of mom and daughter, and then an emotional moment of the first look with Michaela’s father.

The couple didn’t do a first look so when Kyle saw Michaela coming down the aisle, it was one of those moments that are breathtaking and emotional. The barn doors open and the dreamy light flows in and the bride looks other-worldly. Kyle was awestruck. The ceremony was sweet and full of intimate and special moments. The receptions was so much fun!! Great music, great food and a lively dance party! We got some amazing shots around the Homestead and then the couple left with a sparkler exit. It was one of my favorite weddings of the year!

First Impressions: Kyle – My first impressions of Michaela was that she was gorgeous, kind, and confident. Another thing that I noticed very quickly was that she could carry a conversation very well, which I found extremely important. She also loved anything Philadelphia sports, and as a die-hard Philly fan, that was something I noticed very quickly.

Michaela – I always thought Kyle was so handsome J I also appreciated how he talked to people and could carry conversations so well. He could walk into any room and any situation and get to know people so well – I deeply admire that about him.

How he proposed: Kyle proposed at Lititz Springs Park! We went out to lunch with friends beforehand (where they knew all along!) and was very persistent about going on a walk afterwards because of the beautiful weather. I had no idea what was coming and was a tad frustrated because I wanted to file my taxes that afternoon (lol). We began walking and he completely surprised me by popping the questions! He had a photographer capture it all and then threw me a surprise engagement party afterwards with all our close friends! It was a day full of surprises for sure!

Favorite qualities about each other: Kyle – Michaela is my second half, in every meaning of the phrase. She is extremely smart, very generous and caring, and loves to help people. My weaknesses are her strengths, the cares of her heart are the same as mine, and she is truly my best friend.

Michaela – I love how his brain works and how motivated he is to always do his best in everything he does. He is also fiercely loyal to his family and friends and will always be there when you need him. He is my best friend. I love him so much.
