From Brie:

“The most important thing to us was that the wedding completely resembled who we are as individuals and as a couple. We wanted it small, intimate, and low-key but at the same time, completely classic and timeless. The color palette was clean and simple including white, black, gold, and sage.  We both are religious, so the ceremony opened with a prayer and had traditional vows. In both the ceremony and reception, the decor included greenery, candles, and gold accents. I think one of my favorite decor pieces was the floating candles, they just looked magical. We also wanted an “in loving memory of” section at the entrance to the reception. It made us feel like those we’ve lost were there with us. We kept florals to a minimum. I truly have to credit Stargazers Designs for my bouquet and my bridesmaid’s bouquet. I sent them like 3 inspiration pictures, and they just got it right. I dried out the bouquet and have it in our living room because it was too gorgeous to just forget about. Other than that, we didn’t have any centerpieces or ceremony backdrops. Honestly, every step felt personalized. The music was spot on to what we enjoy, the decor was exactly what we asked for, and our photos were so genuine and captured true moments between us. We had so many special moments, but our favorite moment had to be on the mountain top at The Parker Mill. It felt like it was just the two of us and gave us a chance to take in how special the day was.

My mom and I went bridal shopping pretty early on in the wedding planning. My parents were moving to Utah to retire, and I knew there was no way I was going to pick a dress without her. I never imagined I would wear a ballgown, but as soon as I came out in one, we both knew it was the dress for me…I felt like a princess in it.  Jack and I both agreed on a black tux for him with a black bowtie. It’s the ultimate look for a groom, just a great, fitted, classic tux. He kept it modern by not wearing a cummerbund, which the best man, the father of bride, and father of groom appreciated!

We met the old fashioned way….on the internet! Our first date was at a barcade type of place and I told him not to let me win at the games, and he definitely listened . I lost every game we played that night.  It was actually hilarious. As for the proposal,  I accidentally ruined it.  We were snowboarding at Park City Mountain in Utah and he wanted to stop and take a photo,  he was planning to propose then. Unfortunately in that moment, I had a bloody nose and had to run into the resort to get tissues. He ended up winging it, and proposing on the chairlift right after. I knew the time was coming soon, but that moment is still so shocking and special.

For me, as the bride, I think the most anticipated moment was walking down the aisle. I don’t do well in crowds and I tend to get nervous when eyes are on me.  I even told my dad to not let me fall before we left the bridal suite. When I got to the alter, Jack just winked at me and all my nerves went away. I think that was one of the most special moments of the day for me.

we can not stress enough to remember the day is completely and 100% about the two of you. Only invite who you want to invite, don’t give plus ones if you don’t want to give them, have the wedding where you want it vs catering to what is easiest to everyone else, etc. Also, take mental “pictures” of the day. It goes by SO quick, and it’s important to take the small, intimate, special moments and store them mentally so you can remember them forever. ”

As you can tell these are two incredible humans who created a day that was truly a reflection of themselves. With a spectacular team of vendors, they had a stunning wedding with friends, family, and one very happy Golden pup.
