Sammy and Ryan’s wedding at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs will forever go down as one of my favorites—not because everything went according to plan, but because it didn’t.
The original vision? Full-on garden party vibes. Think mountain views, sunshine, and that Broadmoor charm. But Colorado had other plans, and it rained. All. Day. Long. Instead of being bummed, Sammy and Ryan just rolled with it, which made the whole day even more special. Their ceremony got moved inside, guests cozied up together, and it turned into one of those sweet, intimate moments that felt extra meaningful.
By the time we snuck out for portraits, the rain still hadn’t let up. But honestly? It worked in our favor. The stormy skies gave us this moody, romantic “rainy pseudo sunset” that felt like something out of a movie. The Broadmoor’s beautiful grounds and historic architecture were the perfect backdrop—even with (or maybe because of) the rain.
One of my favorite parts of their day was their reception. Sammy’s parents got married at The Broadmoor thirty years ago—in the exact same room. Watching Sammy and Ryan dance under the same chandeliers was such a full-circle moment. Rain or shine, this day was packed with laughter, joy, and all the love. Honestly, I think the weather made it even better.
