Wesley and Justin’s Boho-Glam Winter Wedding

by Amy Serrago

Wesley and Justin planned a glamorous wedding at the modern and chic Le Meridien hotel in downtown Charlotte, North Carolina. They infused bohemian floral accents and styling to create Wesley’s vision of “boho-glam” and the results were stunning. Wesley said, “everything needed to be glam, romantic, elegant and inviting. I wanted glamorous elements, but for things to not look too rigid.” Their ceremony altar was decked out with white crepe myrtle branches and silver glass ornaments to celebrate winter and they infused traditions like jumping the broom. Their adorable dog, Watson, did a great job as ring bearer, too!

Wesley’s gown was perfect for her boho-glam vision and she was an absolute knockout in it. She had fun with the search, but ultimately says she fell in love with “a dress I found on the first day of shopping, then I decided to add an overskirt to it to create a ceremony look with a different silhouette.” Justin also had fun shopping for his look. He selected a classic black tux for the ceremony, but decided that he too wanted a different look for the reception, so he changed into a burgundy tux jacket and Wesley’s mom made his bow tie from vlisco wax fabric in gold, white and burgundy. Their unique styling was complimented by a wedding party glammed out in tuxes and glittering burgundy gowns.

At the reception, flowers helped bring in the boho elements. Wesley, with the help of her mom and her wedding planner, created three different centerpiece themes featuring flowers with gold manzanita trees, mercury glass vases and lanterns and many of the elements were DIY. For their first dance, Wesley and Justin chose PrimeTime by Janelle Monae and Miguel because the song was on the radio a lot when they first started dating and as Wesley put it, “we loved that it was more contemporary and unexpected for a first dance song.” We love all the personal touches this creative bride and groom brought to their day. Dinner and dancing in luxury was top on the list of the couple’s favorite parts of their wedding, but Wesley’s absolute favorite was “definitely walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing Justin waiting at the end of the aisle.” Congratulations Wesley and Justin!
