Claudia and Matt’s Perfectly Peachy Manor House Wedding

by Amy Serrago

Claudia and Matt met while they were both attending the LBJ School of Public Affairs in Austin, Texas. They were with mutual friends heading to see The Black Crowes play downtown and the two music lovers hit it off right away. They stayed “just friends” for about eight months before sharing their first kiss, on the last day of Austin’s famed South by Southwest music festival. Matt finally popped the question when the two of them were back home for a friend’s wedding. When Claudia said yes, they set out to plan the wedding of their dreams, starting with their venue choice, the historic Oxon Hill Manor in Maryland. It offers an outdoor ceremony spot and a grand tented reception space, all on the grounds of a gorgeous 1928 manor house. Claudia says she couldn’t have done any of it without the help of her talented planner, Amy, from Amelia Lawrence Weddings.

Claudia was perfectly styled for a garden wedding in her satin and lace gown with its asymmetrical hemline and delicate spaghetti straps. She finished her look with sparkling stud earrings and a knockout pair of blue lace Betsy Johnson shoes with large jeweled embellishments. Her bridesmaids were right on trend in non-matching dresses in shades of navy blue and all of the ladies carried lush bouquets of peach and blush peonies and roses accented by an actual peach! Matt’s groomsmen rocked a country club chic look in khaki pants and navy blue blazers with pale blue ties, while Matt stood out in a classic navy suit complimented by a pale peach tie.

At the reception, tables were set with crisp white linens to enhance the bright and airy feel inside the tent. The stunning peach, blush and white floral arrangements popped against the white background and details like antique-inspired blue plates tied the theme together beautifully. The head table was adorned with a long garland of greenery and peaches and each of the place cards was tied onto a delicious looking, fuzzy peach! At the wedding’s entrance sat a large welcome sign written in Spanish to celebrate Matt’s heritage and a seating chart in a gilded antique frame showed guests the way to their table. Old family photos were on display and vintage chandeliers hung high above the space completing this peachy wedding’s impeccable styling. Congratulations Claudia and Matt!
