Caitlin met Donnie through a mutual friend she teaches with who’d known him since grade school. It took her a month to let her friend pass her number on to Donnie, but once she did they hit it off right away! They made plans to go to an FC Dallas soccer game that first weekend and Caitlin says, “everything after just fell into place”. When it came time to pop the question, Donnie (who is a coach and a huge baseball fan) asked Caitlin to open a “surprise” baseball card he’d gotten in the mail. He told her that he wanted her to open it for luck, to make sure it would be a good card. Caitlin agreed, but when she opened the envelope the “baseball card” inside featured a picture of the two of them and read: “will you marry me?” She looked up to see Donnie on one knee. Of course, she said yes!
Caitlin and Donnie exchanged vows under a modern rustic pavilion where three large gold circles decorated with pink and white florals created the altar. Caitlin was positively radiant in her traditional lace ballgown with its wide lace straps and sweetheart neckline. She finished her look with a double strand of pearls and a loose updo that allowed tendrils of her curly hair to frame her face. Her bridesmaids were pretty in pale pink dresses, each with her own unique style, and all of the ladies carried lush bouquets in shades of pink and blush with plenty of greenery to accent. Donnie and his groomsmen were dashing in light gray. Donnie wore all three pieces and his guys opted to skip the jackets and rock those vests!
The reception space featured exposed wood and stone walls that gave it warmth and created a rich backdrop for the vibrant floral decor. An antique window held the seating chart and vintage touches like white vases and mirrored vanity trays complemented the tablescapes. Plenty of flickering votive candles gave the room a romantic glow and Caitlin and Donnie displayed family pictures to honor their loved ones who have passed. The newlyweds personalized their dessert with fun and funky baseball-themed wedding cake toppers and a Colorado Rockies groom’s cake and after they danced the night away with their guests, they drove off in style to get the honeymoon started!
