Nicole and Michael met on the dating site, Hinge and realized right away that they have so much in common. This adorable pair of accountants from big families love to laugh and travel together. One of their favorite pastimes is walking the trails around their home. They’d been dating for three years when, on the day of the season’s first snowfall, after they’d spent the morning putting up their Christmas tree and treating themselves to a couple’s massage, they decided to go out for one of those walks. That’s when Michael popped the question. Nicole answered with a resounding yes and says, the day was perfect and Michael’s proposal was “the icing on the cake”. Their traditional Catholic ceremony was held at the church in Nicole’s hometown and they chose their playful, vibrant color scheme based on her favorite flowers, peonies, gerbera daisies and marigolds.
Nicole’s mom is a talented seamstress and had made her dresses in the past. Nicole says she’d always dreamed that Mom would create her wedding dress, and she did an amazing job. Nicole was absolutely stunning in her one of kind gown with its lacy bodice, wide straps and A-line skirting. Mom added pockets too! Nicole’s favorite part of her look was the long veil her mom made using the lace from three generations of family wedding gowns. We love the playful bright pink shoes that completed the look. The bridesmaids got to choose their own dresses within the blush, pink and coral color scheme and all of the ladies carried bouquets of cheerful gerbera daisies. Michael and his groomsmen were handsome in gray, sporting pink ties to match the ladies.
At the reception, Nicole and Michael let the natural beauty of their venue shine through, adding small DIY touches to personalize their day. Tables were set with crisp white linens and delicate floral centerpieces in pink, coral and blush with pops of green, all created by Nicole’s mom, who even hand crocheted covers for the mason jars that served as votives. Michael got in on the DIY fun by hand painting table numbers. He used scenes from his travels with Nicole and each original work was given away to the guest at the table who’s birthday was closest to the wedding date! After Nicole and Michael’s first dance, they shared special dances with their parents. Nicole’s family favorite father/daughter dance to “Love Shack” by the B-52s was used to get the dance party started and Nicole says, “there was not a single person in their seats when the song was over!” Congratulations Nicole and Michael!
