Chelsea and Wyatt met in college and bonded over pancakes and punk rock, but they didn’t start dating right away. It took a few years for these friends to become a couple. One day a mutual friend invited Chelsea along for coffee with Wyatt, who she hadn’t seen in a while. Wyatt was newly single and as they talked, Chelsea developed a serious crush on him. About three months later, after a pep talk from her friends and some liquid courage, Chelsea asked Wyatt out on a date. They’ve been inseparable ever since. They got married at House on the Hill in Austin, TX. At the entrance to their ceremony was a sign that read: “Grow old together with me, the best is yet to be”, just one of the creative DIY elements Chelsea and Wyatt infused into their big day!
Chelsea was gorgeous in her vintage-inspired lace gown with its long sleeves and delicate train. Her bridesmaids were glamorous in blush sequins and all of the ladies carried bouquets of bright pink peonies and red roses with greenery accents. Wyatt was dapper in a classic black tux and bow tie and his groomsmen were handsome in black suits and dark red ties.
Wyatt and Chelsea’s ultimate goal was to make sure their wedding was a reflection of them and their relationship. “That’s what led us to building and creating a lot of the décor ourselves”, says Chelsea. This creative couple’s DIY wedding projects weren’t just beautiful, they also allowed them to spend time bonding with each other and their families. Some of Chelsea and Wyatt’s favorite DIY reception details were the wooden lanterns and wine bottle centerpieces and of course, the home brewed beer! Congratulations Chelsea and Wyatt!
