Ariel and Geoff: Industrial Romance in Baltimore

by Amy Serrago

Ariel and Geoff met in Boston, at a New Year’s Eve party that Ariel was hosting with her three roommates. Geoff was there with a friend who’d asked him to serve as his “wingman” to help win over a woman he liked. That relationship never blossomed, but Ariel and Geoff’s did! They spent the whole night together and when midnight rolled around, they shared the first of many New Year’s kisses. After years of dating long distance, the pair finally took the plunge and moved to Baltimore together. They bought a row house and filled it with love and laughter. Geoff proposed in Fort McHenry National Park on a brisk late fall day. Of course, Ariel said yes and wedding planning was underway!

Ariel and Geoff wanted a romantic industrial vibe for their big day. The Winslow Room provided exposed brick, beams and mixed metals while lush greenery, white florals and candle light added romance and warmth. They exchanged vows in a traditional Jewish ceremony and Geoff broke the glass on his first try! Ariel was gorgeous in her sleek mermaid-cut gown by Justin Alexander and her bridesmaids were elegant in forest green. Geoff and his groomsmen were dashing in classic black tuxes, Geoff in a white bow tie, his guys in black ones.

The reception tables were set with glass chargers, gold flatware and white floral centerpieces surrounded by twinkling votives. Dozens of floating candles gave the head table extra sparkle and gold accents completed the decor. Ariel’s mom made a heartfelt speech and then surprised the couple with a nine-foot poster of their adorable labradoodle, Winston. Geoff and Ariel were lucky to have a friend in the DJ business. He totally knew their musical taste and kept everyone up and dancing all night – some people even took a spin around the floor with Winston’s poster as their partner! Congratulations Ariel and Geoff!
